Law firm Burness Paull LLP scored a prestigious double win for its market-leading Intellectual Property practice at an international awards ceremony last night (Thursday 7th March 2019).

The Managing IP Awards saw Burness Paull named winners of the Scottish Patent Contentious Firm of the Year and also Scottish Copyright Firm of the Year at the event which took place in the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

The Property & Infrastructure division of leading commercial law firm Burness Paull has promoted Theresa Hunt to partner in its Tier 1 Planning team.

Theresa has been appointed to support an ambitious multi-sector Property & Infrastructure growth strategy.

Often involved in high profile projects in the northeast, she is a specialist in planning applications and appeals, planning gain negotiations and S75 agreements. She also provides environmental consenting advice for development proposals to developers, private individuals and public bodies.

Three charities which support children with life-threatening conditions have received a total of £36,000 from Burness Paull's charitable efforts in 2018.

The firm's offices, in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, raised more than £18,000 with a wide range of fundraising events - including a Forth Bridge abseil and raffling off a day's extra annual leave in each city. All funds raised were matched by the Burness Paull Foundation, the firm's charitable trust set up in 2015.
